Growing Progress at Whitechapel Projects
The Possibilities Are Endless
As summer at the Jersey Shore is in full swing, we are excited to begin collaborating with the talented team members from Brooklyn Grange to design and plan our future rooftop garden. Located directly above the Aubergerie, the rooftop garden will house a vegetable garden, a variety of wild flowers and our apiary.
Brooklyn Grange, a key collaborator involved in the establishment and success of our future rooftop garden, is slated to provide their expertise to transform the current rooftop at 15-17 Second Ave. into an outdoor oasis which the entire community will be able to enjoy. Project after project, Brooklyn Grange demonstrates their remarkable ability to curate and execute aspiring gardens, farms, apiaries and urban oasis’s through innovative design and dedication to detail and sustainability.
The rooftop garden at The Whitechapel Projects will provide a picturesque platform for the cultivation of herbs, flowers, vegetables and honeybees to flourish, not only benefiting The Whitechapel Projects but the community as a whole.
With great consideration for the community and environment, this rooftop garden will also provide a natural stormwater runoff system and promote community involvement. Additionally, the implementation of this rooftop sanctuary will aid in insulating the building, reducing the The Whitechapel Projects overall emissions, and as a result will improve air quality in our area.
Along with the positive esthetic and environmental impact the rooftop garden will play at The Whitechapel Projects, it will also provide the ideal location to sit back, relax and enjoy a craft nano brew at the Jersey Shore.
This is the stuff dreams are made of…
The aroma of herbs, flowers fill the night air on a hot summer evening, with the ocean providing a gentle night breeze while you sip and savor the flavors of The Whitechapel Projects. Artisan craft nano brew in hand, live music in the background and the Atlantic Ocean on the horizon- summers will never be the same at the Jersey Shore.
While our rooftop garden is evolving and taking shape, we would love to hear about your rooftop garden. Please share your rooftop garden with The Whitechapel Projects Facebook page!
